We always look forward to hearing from our students- whether it’s a question or just a quick check-in! Additionally, students are strongly encouraged to meet with their advisor if any of the following apply:
- You are interested in making changes to your course schedule
- You are having some challenges that may, or are currently, impacting your academic success or general wellbeing
- You are interested in talking about future course planning
How to Prepare
- Schedule your appointment using Starfish. For instructions, please navigate to the scheduling an appointment page
- Write down a list of questions that you have for your advisor. This can include questions that you have about courses, enrollment, financial aid, resources, or other areas of interest
- If you wish to discuss future enrollment, we advise that you:
-
- Run and review your Degree Audit Report (DARS)
- Review upcoming course offerings
- Review your program/major planning document
- Complete the items on your pre-enrollment checklist and check for any holds
-
- Review and complete any outstanding to-do items if you have met with your academic/career advisor previously
- Remember, if you are unable to meet during your scheduled time, please cancel your appointment and reschedule or follow up with your advisor via e-mail
